Energy efficiency is a hot topic these days. Whetstone Valley Electric Cooperative wants you to 
know everything you can about making your home energy-efficient.

Merry Christmas - WVEC Office will be closed Christmas Day, Dec. 25th

Automated Meter Reading System Update:

Consumers in the following townships will be receiving a notice by mail because their meter has been changed or will be changed to an automated meter: Vernon, Madison, Stockholm, Leola, Waverly, Troy, Georgia, Adams, Grant Center, Alban, and a portion of Big Stone, Melrose and Kilborn counties. As of January 1, 2009, the people in the above townships who have received a notice by mail AND have had their meter changed out, will no longer need to read their meter or prepare their bill. On Dec. 31st, WVEC will record your meter readings and calculate your bill. In the first few days of January, we will be mailing out a bill to you which will be due in our office by January 15th. *The remainder of the WVEC consumers not residing in the above townships and who have not received a notice by mail, can expect AMR installation sometime within the following year. Consumers should watch their door for a yellow door hanger which serves as notification of the changeout of your meter as well as instructions for how to read your meter in the upcoming months to prepare for the transition to automated reading. Please continue to read your meters until otherwise notified.
